About PUMP

The aims of PUMP are to provide a multi-disciplinary forum for education, support and to facilitate the use of pump therapy in the UK.

PUMP was established in September 2000 at a meeting in Harrogate to move insulin pump therapy forward and develop links with others to pool experiences .

The first meeting was led by Dr David Kerr, consultant physician and Joan Everett DSN (both of Bournemouth), with Peter Hammond consultant physician and Sandra Dudley DSN (both of Harrogate). Click here for a fulllist of Committtee members

PUMP was registered as a stakeholder in the NICE appraisal process for pump therapy and contributed to the final decision made on pump use.

There have already been two PUMP conferences and a third is now being organised.

PUMP is supported by Roche, Medtronic and Animas.
